Join me on an adventure...
...all the way across Spain and deep into the heart and mind of a lost soul on a journey to self-discovery.
'Screw it then, I'm walking the Camino.'
When I was unexpectedly laid off, I knew the time had finally come to walk the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage stretching all the way across Spain.
Armed with a cheap notebook, a ballpoint pen, and the ugliest pair of shoes I’d ever owned, I set out to fulfill a dream, and to get a grip on the demons that have plagued me my entire life.
In this personal, uncensored travel journal, the very same one in which I wrote every single day of the Camino, I chronicle my 600 mile sojourn on foot through the Spanish countryside, and invite readers deep into the inner workings of my heart and mind.
Day by day, mile after mile, the Camino, the pilgrims I meet, and the time for reflection bestow upon me countless insights on depression, anxiety, self-worth, and finding peace.
Vulnerable and humorous, evocative and earnest, this journal is a window into a lost soul on a journey to self-discovery; a portrait of gorgeous landscapes, human connections, and those questions which don’t seem to have any answers.
Like the thousands of tiny yellow arrows that mark the way to Santiago, these heartfelt entries remind us that hope often hides in unexpected places, and stand as a testament to all who read them that there’s nothing wrong with getting lost on the way.

A Must Read
This book is beautifully written and is definitely a must read, even if you have never heard of the Camino de Santiago. I could not put it down. From the funny stories, to the perseverance exhibited, to the insight into one's experiences with anxiety and depression and overcoming them, this book is truly inspirational.
Honest and inspiring
An honest account of a quest for peace, acceptance, and better mental health on the Camino de Santiago.Brave publication of a very well written journal that is heartbreaking, inspiring and entertaining all in one. Wonderful lessons to be learnt in this book.
Tears are healing.
I give away books after I read them. I’m keeping this one!!It’s raw, real and a beautiful journey.
Wonderful Experience
Blake is funny, profound, insightful, truthful, and brave.A wonderful share of a life-changing event.
Great read…got it today and can’t put it down
Blake Farha has a true gift. He is hysterically funny. He is also sensitive and brave with an optimism that I could feel turning the pages.I recommend this book to anybody wanting an uplifting read.
Stunningly honest
As an avid journaler myself, I can fully appreciate what a vulnerable thing it must be to share your journal with the world, especially without any form of abridgement or censorship. I can only say that this book had me in awe of the raw human honesty within its pages. There is never a hint of contrivance or self-consciousness. It is purely the truth of Blake Farha's internal and external journey.
What a privilege it was to delve into the mind and heart of a fellow human, to walk the Camino alongside him, and to be inspired to do the same.
Excellent read....very personal and relatable
Of all the Camino memoirs I've read in recent months, none have been more introspectively personal and intimate as Blake Farha's "Lost On The Way."Although I've never contemplated suicide as a solution to anything, I do know despair and depression and I can definitely relate to Blake's sometimes stream of consciousness thoughts on his own mental stability.
Thank you, Blake for a fantastic read that I won't soon forget.
Lovely, personal, filled with wisdom
Blake's journey on the Camino is so beautifully transcribed in these pages. His ups, downs, and thoughts so closely reflect my own in day to day life- many pearls of wisdom he shares I'll carry with me for a while.
This book feels so personal, brave, and brilliantly descriptive of the inner workings of depression and perfectionism. I'd recommend this to any living soul!
Read cover to cover in one sitting!
I loved this book so much! I was riveted and did not put the book down until I reached the final page.I wish I lived in Berlin, so I could be friends with Blake!
Terrific book, couldn't put it down!
I absolutely adore this book! It’s a wonderfully written, poignant and at times hilarious series of journals.A must-read for anyone who is unfamiliar with the Camino de Santiago, those contemplating their own paths as well as it being a warm and insightful companion for future pilgrims.
Touching story & excellent narration!
Often funny, often tragic, always thoughtful, this unfettered access to Blake's experience on the Camino and in life resonated with many of the difficult questions, and internal struggles I deal with. This book, and Blake's words made me feel less crazy, and indeed gave me hope that maybe I'm not as lost as I think I am. And even if I am, at least now I know for sure that I'm not alone in being so lost!

I had the honor and privilege of diving deep into my journey with Bradley Chermside, best-selling Camino author and host of the wonderful “El Camino de Santiago Pilgrim’s Podcast.”
In our interview, we spent an hour talking about why I went on the Camino, what I found on it, and why I ultimately decided to publish my journal.
I also share insights for future pilgrims such as lovely towns to visit, my best foot-care tips, as well as what to pack, and what to leave at home.
Jose’s conviction that it is the people that make the Camino truly special has led to the creation of “El Camino People”, a podcast which dives into the amazing humans that find themselves on the way to Santiago.
In our interview, Jose and I talk about my journey, the highs and lows of every pilgrim’s day, and how I dealt with my internal fight with the demons of depression and anxiety.
Artist Larissa Russell is passionate about showing the connection between healing and creativity.
On her podcast, “Creative Soul Healing,” in addition to chatting about Lost on the Way and my time on the Camino, we talk about following our passions, healing through creativity, and how necessary that is. We also dive into what ‘making it’ means to us.
